Thank you for your interest in applying for a JIRP 2019 staff position! This application is for five-seven general field staff positions and the Assistant Operations Manager (a section within the Returning Staff Application). This application is not for medical personnel, maintenance staff, or Juneau logistics staff. Those applications will be posted in the coming weeks.

Application Process:

Application Timeline

January 4th: Staff application material is due for all applicants.

January 18th: First round of application decisions, including an invitation to interview for applicants advanced to the second round.

February 8th: Final application decisions from JIRP. This will include a short waitlist while we work to determine final numbers of staff needed.

February 15th: Staffers must either accept their offered position or work with the Program and Operations Managers to make a clear timeline for being able to do so.

First-Year Applicants

  • Fill out the First-Year Field Staff Application, due January 4th.

    • Note: this includes three references we can call. They need not write you letters of recommendation, but please do alert them that we may call.

Returning Applicants

  • Note: This is for applicants who have already done a full traverse of the Icefield as JIRP field staff.
